The US Department of Commerce has chosen AirfinanceJournal’s Inaugural Southeast Aerospace & Defence Conference in Mobile, Alabama as a 2018 SelectUSA Investment Summit spinoff event.
The Mobile event, which will take place on 25-27 June, follows the 2018 SelectUSA Investment Summit (20-22 June) and will provide visiting delegations from around the globe with connections needed to make their next investments a reality.
In 2016, the US aerospace industry contributed $147 billion in export sales to the US economy. The industry’s positive trade balance of $90.5 billion that year was the largest trade surplus of any manufacturing industry, supporting high-wage jobs for hundreds of thousands of American workers.
“We encourage all visiting foreign business delegations to extend their stay in the United States and connect directly with business leaders and local experts while exploring promising investment opportunities,” says SelectUSA.
Co-hosted with Leeham Company, the Inaugural Southeast Aerospace & Defence Conference will bring together suppliers, OEMs, aerospace companies, financiers and investors.
The event will unpack the ways in which suppliers are building for the future – from the introduction of new assembly lines, such as the Airbus/Bombardier C Series FAL to the ways in which innovative production techniques, such as the robotics underpinning the production of the Boeing 777X, will migrate to new products over the coming decade.
Featuring nine dedicated networking opportunities, the event facilitates open, informal discussion between presenters and participants, to increase understanding of the future make-up of the aircraft production market – including supply chain, automation and technological advancement – with a focus on:
Airbus Final Assembly Line
Bombardier CSeries program and Final Assembly Line
Developing Aerospace Clusters in the Southeast
Evolving Aerospace Cluster at Mobile
Product Development and Production Outlook for the Mid-Term
Transformation in the Supply Chain
Transformation in Manufacturing
Participants will also receive a complimentary pass to the Inaugural Southeast Aerospace & Defence Networking Dinner.
